We open our 12th Season with the Arizona Premiere of SAUCY JACK & THE SPACE VIXENS!

In a futuristic universe, where Disco has ceased to be merely a musical form and has achieved religious status, danger lurks around every corner of a seedy cabaret (and the audience its patrons) presided over by the alluring and charismatic Saucy Jack. The dreams of the denizens of this cosmic cafe are as dead as the cabaret acts... that are being murdered one by one. Then the Space Vixens, intergalactic super-fashion crime- fighters armed with the Power of Disco, arrive to remind us that if you believe in yourself and say it out loud… it will come true.

Yes, we'll be turning the Little Theatre into the STAR WARS CANTINA!

NEEDED
5 MEN and 5 WOMEN between the ages of 18-55+, Everyone should be a fairly good “mover” and actors of ALL ethnicities are encouraged to audition.

CHARACTERS
Mitch Maypole (20s) – Cute and friendly, he’s the bartender at Saucy Jack's. Stuck in a rut, but always cheerful... although he harbors a great secret.

Dr. Willhelm von Whackoff (40s/50s) - Half psychiatrist, half bar fly, he's the odd and somewhat Freudian narrator of our tale. Pays a little too much attention to Mitch.

Booby Shevalle (20s/30s) – Hostess/Waitress at Saucy Jack's. She longs for adventure as she strives to keep her glamour from fading away. Dreams of becoming a Space Vixen. (Traditionally played in drag).

Sammy Sacks (20s) – The saxophone player (he doesn't have to really play) at Saucy Jack's. Looking for his big break. Talented, gullible, and lacking in confidence & drive.

"Saucy" Jack De'ath (30s) – A failed magician turned space-cabaret owner. As charismatic and alluring as he is evil.

Chesty Prospects (20s/30s) – A no nonsense, grease smeared biker chick who smuggles fetish wear. This role is double cast with Shirley Tristar - interstellar space trucker.

Jubilee Climax (30s) – The leader of the Space Vixens. A strong and independent woman, she is the quintessential Space Vixen; tough- talking, crime-fighting, and a little icy to boot.

Bunny Lingus (20s/30s) – A Space Vixen. She's wild and raunchy with a big heart. Very devoted to the cause. If there’s a crime, she’ll fight it! If there’s naughty pun, she’ll make it. If there’s a motorcycle, she’ll… we’ll let’s just say she has a thing for motorcycles.

Anna Labia (20s) – Rookie Space Vixen, on her first mission. Eager to impress. Astrology is important to her and she’s looking for someone to love… preferably a Virgo. She has a weakness for hot sax!

Vulva Savanovich (20s/30s) – The current chanteuse of Saucy Jack's. She's just announced that she's leaving, since all the cabaret's acts are dying. Will she make it out alive?

All acting is volunteer only. Actors will receive a modest stipend to help compensate for gas expenses.

AUDITIONS
will be held BY APPOINTMENT ONLY on Monday, July 5th and Tuesday, July 6th, in the evenings between 5:30pm and 10:30pm at The Little Theatre at Phoenix Theatre - 100 E. McDowell Rd. in the Phx Theatre/Phx Art Museum complex on Central & McDowell.

PREPARE
two song cuttings (one preferably in the rock-theatre genre, disco or at least VERY upbeat) totaling no more than 3 MINUTES (you will be timed and cut-off if necessary to keep auditions on schedule). Please bring sheet music in your key; AN ACCOMPANIST WILL BE PROVIDED. You may also bring CD accompaniment. But do not bring iPods, Laptops or any device requiring special set-up time. Your audition is limited to 3 MINUTES!

IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED THAT YOU PREPARE ANY SONGS FROM SAUCY JACK & THE SPACE VIXENS.

Resumes are optional but a headshot is required (although any picture of yourself, even a laser copy, will do).

CALLBACKS
will be held on Tuesday, July 6th at 7:00pm -- BE PREPARED TO STAY LATE -- Callbacks will consist of cold reads from the script, songs from the score and dance. Please be dressed to move.


REHEARSALS BEGIN
the week of July 11th , 2010. Four nights a week, 6pm to 10:30pm.

PERFORMANCE DATES
for SAUCY JACK & THE SPACE VIXENS are Aug. 14th thru Sept. 11th, 2010.
